Ingredients

1 c. all-purpose flour

1 lg. egg, lightly beaten

1 c. panko breadcrumbs

1 avocado, sliced

1 tbsp. olive oil

1 lb. ground beef

1 1/2 tbsp. butter

3 slices cheddar

1 head lettuce

1 lg. tomato

3 Hamburger buns

1 tbsp. mayo

Preparation

Step 1Arrange three bowls : one with flour, one with egg, and one with Panko. Season flour and panko with salt and pepper.Step 2Working one slice at a time, dredge avocado in flour, egg mixture, and Panko, coating completely. Transfer on a plate until ready to fry.Step 3Heat olive oil over medium heat and fry avocado until golden brown, 1 minute per side. Step 4Make the burgers: in a large skillet, fry bacon over medium-high heat until crisp. Transfer to a paper-towel-lined plate.Step 5Form beef into three equal-sized patties. Season generously with salt and pepper.Step 6Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat and melt butter. Add burgers and cook 3 minutes, then flip. Top with cheese and cook 3 minutes more for medium rare.Step 7Build burgers by spreading mayo on the bun bottoms and topping with bacon, lettuce, tomato, and fried avocado.
