How did this cocktail get its name? During the 1980s, the apples in Washington were infested with a bug that led to crop issues. But a man named Christof Guycoogan made apple liquor from those apples, which he then mixed with Canadian whiskey and cranberry juice. Should I make this with ice? I didn’t add ice to the method because shots are typically straight alcohol and not diluted with water. If you want this to be cold, chill your liquids. Types of whiskey to use This certainly depends on your taste for whiskey varieties. American, Irish, Scottish, Canadian, and Japanese have their own style. Some are smooth, others are more intense, and some have spicy notes. Try some out to choose your favorites. I chose Irish whiskey, as it was smoother than using American-style bourbon.  Did you try this recipe? Let us know in the comments below!
