Ingredients
1 lb. asparagus, ends trimmed
2 tbsp. butter, melted
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Lemon wedges, for serving
Preparation
Step 1In a large skillet over medium heat, add asparagus. Add enough water to just cover the bottom of the pan. Cover and let steam until asparagus is easily pierced with a knife, 3 to 5 minutes. Step 2Toss asparagus with butter and season with salt and pepper. Serve with lemon wedges.
We finished the steamed stalks with some butter but you can totally skip or use some olive oil to keep things dairy free. And don’t forget to season liberally with salt and bunch of freshly ground pepper. These cook up so fast for a simple and quick side dish to complete any meal, like the garlic parmesan flounder or some creamy tuscan chicken.
