Ingredients
3 c. plain popcorn or kettle corn
2 c. pretzels
1 c. semisweet chocolate chips, melted
1 c. white chocolate chips, melted
1/2 c. candy corn
1/2 c. yellow, orange, and chocolate M&M’s
2 tsp. Halloween-colored sprinkles or nonpareils
Preparation
Step 1On a parchment-lined baking sheet, place a single layer of popcorn or kettle corn and pretzels.Step 2Transfer melted chocolates to separate piping or Ziploc bags, with a corner snipped, and drizzle popcorn and pretzels with melted semisweet chocolate, making sure to drizzle lines very close together (you want the majority of the mix to be covered in chocolate). Step 3Top with candy corn and M&M’s and drizzle with melted white chocolate. Top with sprinkles and freeze or refrigerate until chocolate is firm, 20 minutes. Step 4Break into pieces and serve.
To make it, all you do is spread popcorn and pretzels (these bring the saltiness!) on a parchment-lined rimmed baking sheet and drizzle with melted chocolate. Then come the fun candy toppings: candy corn, M&M’s—and whatever else your heart desires. Want to add Reese’s Pieces for a peanut butter moment? Go for it. Sprinkle on some chopped Kit Kats? Never a bad idea. Before you transfer it to the freezer, you’re going to drizzle on more chocolate (we like white for this layer for a combo). The chocolate acts like a glue that holds all the popcorn “bark” components together. It’s sure to add a spooky moment to your snack spread. Made this recipe? Let us know in the comments below!
