Ingredients
2 cups yellow cornmeal1/2 cup all-purpose flour2 tablespoons sugar2 teaspoons baking powder1 teaspoon salt1/2 teaspoon baking soda1 large egg, room temperature, lightly beaten3/4 cup 2% milk3/4 cup cream-style cornOil for deep-fat frying
Preparation
In a large bowl, whisk cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Add egg, milk and corn; stir just until combined.
In a deep-fat fryer, heat oil to 375°. Drop batter by tablespoonfuls, a few at a time, into hot oil. Fry until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels. Serve warm.
