The drink was a hit and folks are still drinking it today, though you’ll often see it served in plastic cups due to a modern ban on public drinking from glass containers. To honor its origins, we serve our Hurricane in a fun, curvy glass. It is sweet, refreshing, and juicy with passion fruit and citrus flavor. We also added grenadine to take this cocktail to the next level: pretty on the eyes, and even more delicious in every sip. It’s been a hit in NOLA since the 1940s, and now it can be a hit in your own home. The best part? You don’t need any special equipment to whip up a couple of servings. All you need is a large pitcher and a nice, smooth stir to bring it all together. Serve it over ice to really bring out those sweet and tart notes! Looking for more rum-based cocktail ideas?
