Ingredients

1/2 lb. unsalted butter

2 1/2 c. confectioners’ sugar

1 1/4 c. Hershey’s Special Dark Cocoa

1/2 c. heavy cream

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract

Preparation

Step 1Have all your ingredients at room temperature.Step 2With a hand mixer or a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, whip the butter on high speed for 1 minute. Step 3In a separate bowl, mix the confectioners’ sugar and dark cocoa. With the mixer on low speed (otherwise you’ll be covered in confectioners’ sugar), add the sugar-cocoa mixture 1 cup at a time, until completely incorporated. Scrape down the sides of the bowl between additions. Whip on high speed for 2 minutes until light and fluffy. Step 4Add the cream, salt, and vanilla extract and whip on high speed for 2 minutes more.
