Step 1In a medium skillet over medium heat, heat oil. Add onion and jalapeño and cook until deeply golden, 7 minutes. Stir in chili powder and cook until fragrant, 1 minute more, then season with salt and pepper.Step 2Pour in prepared chili and bring to a low simmer.
