Ingredients

1 lb. ground chicken

1 tsp. kosher salt

1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper, plus more for garnish

1 tsp. garlic powder

1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning

1/4 c. freshly grated Parmesan

1/4 c. panko bread crumbs

1 egg yolk

4 white hoagie rolls, split horizontally

1 c. marinara

8 slices provolone

Thinly sliced fresh basil, for garnish

Preparation

Step 1Preheat oven to 400º. Grease a large casserole dish and set aside. Step 2 In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, salt, pepper, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, Parmesan, panko, and egg yolk. Mix until all ingredients are incorporated. Shape into 32 balls and place in a single layer in prepared baking dish. Bake until browned and cooked through, 22 to 25 minutes.Step 3Assemble sandwiches: To each roll, add 8 meatballs, 1/4 cup marinara, and 2 slices provolone. Bake until cheese is melted, 5 minutes. Top with pepper and garnish with basil. Serve immediately.
